Ugandan Musicians Face Revenue Challenges Due to Live Concert Streams

  Jaja Ragga Dee Addresses Revenue Losses from Live Concert Streams in Uganda Jaja Ragga Dee commonly known as Daniel kazibwe, a prominent figure in the Ugandan music industry and the patron of the Uganda Musicians Federation (UMF), has raised concerns over the financial losses Ugandan artists face due to live concert broadcasts by various media houses. In recent statements, he highlighted how these live streams on different social media platforms deter many potential concertgoers from attending events, opting instead to watch the performances for free from the comfort of their homes. Jaja Ragga Dee pointed out that a concert which could potentially attract around 8,000 attendees often ends up drawing only about 3,000 people. Unleashing the Best of Music and Culture: Terminal Festival 2022 Takes Kampala by Storm

The Kampala Terminal festival 2022 will be On the 30th, 31st, and 1st of January, Kampala will be treated to a new event in Terminal festival, which will take place at two different venues, Lugogo Cricket Oval and Skyz Hotel Naguru.


Following previous editions in Kuwait, Oman, the United Kingdom, and Kenya, the first-ever Ugandan edition of Terminal Festival will be headlined by Camidoh, whose 'Sugarcane' jam is still topping Ugandan charts.

According to the event's organizers, Daniel Ebo and Chris Bitti, the Terminal Festival event will feature 25 artists, 10 of whom will be outsiders from Africa and Europe performing alongside Ugandan acts.


Camidoh from Ghana, DopeNation from Ghana, Ya Levis from France, Marioo from Tanzania, Shasha from Zimbabwe, Black Motion from South Africa, and DJ Edu  are among them

DJ Lochive from South Africa, for example. Sheebah Karungi, Kataleya, and Kandle, Ykee Benda, Fik Fumaica, DJ Shiru, DJ Bankrobber, DJ Lito, DJ Naselow, DJ Zato, and DJ Nimrod are among the Ugandan performers.

According to Chris Bitti,

" The Terminal Festival experience, in addition to the music, is what distinguishes Terminal Festival Kampala from other events. "From experiential games to using technology to run the event, to a properly themed event, I believe that we are raising the bar. You'll have to come and see for yourself. Words fall short." He stated.

The Kampala Terminal Festival is divided into three themes, with the first day, dubbed "Young and Sexy," at Cricket Oval, featuring artists such as Marioo, DopeNation, Kataleya, and Kandle, as well as DJs Maker Breaker, Shiru, and Lito.


The second day (December 31st), dubbed "Into '23," will usher Ugandans into 2023, with Camidoh, Ya Elvis, Shasha, DJs Edu, DJ Zato, DJ Naselow Dan Don, and DJ Nimrod performing.

The final day of "the Big Chill" will be held at Skyz Hotel Naguru and will feature Black Motion, DJs Bankrobber, and Kash Pro. The Big Chill is a more relaxed, sophisticated event that is ideal for ringing in the New year in style 

On the 30th and 1st of January, an economy ticket (General) costs Shs 50,000 in advance and 75,000 at the gate. On December 31st, the early bird price is 70,000shs and the gate price is 100,000shs. Two-day economy passes are also available for Shs 90,000 in advance and 120,000 at the gate, and are valid for the 30th and 31st of December.

A business class ticket (VIP) is available on the 30th and 1st of January.
