Uganda Government Stimulus Fund Creates Tension Among Ugandan Performers

The Uganda Government Stimulus Fund has made Mc Kapale Sheds Tears On National Radio 90.4 Dembe fm

Due to  the effects of the Covid-19 which have led to a presidential directive to take the country of Uganda into a total lockdown and banning of gatherings which made concerts, church services and public gatherings banned in the country.

This directive has affected lots of preforming artists which includes musicians, comedians and performing artists who earn through shows to make their livelihood and take care of their families.

The lockdown has done more harm than good to the performing industry who have nothing or bread to take care of their families and themselves.

Life is not the same again since many musicians and comedians are struggling and many have restored to seeking the help from General Saleh at his Gulu residence who is the chairman of the Uganda Government stimulus fund (operation wealth creation)

Due to this situation stakeholders reached out to the president's brother Salim saleh who is the patron of Operation Wealth Creation and is working in conjunction with the Ministry of Gender labor and Social Development who are in charge of the Uganda Government Stimulus Fund for a bail out since many where indebted especially those who had concerts that were cancelled yet they hadn't used their own money but it was money of money lenders and banks.

Salim saleh was touched and promised government could do something to help them get out of this indebtedness and also give capital to those who weren't doing well so they could start some projects.

Events promoters and artists were asked to take in their files for review and then money could be released for compensation. and this is where people's true colors came out and luck of shame. many events promoters who didn't have any shows put in their files and even submitting in different names.
when the money was released many up country promoters didn't get the money and even other's money was taken by different people and this is where tension has emerged.

fingers are pointed at promoters like.

While appearing on 90.4 Dembefm hosted by Radio Presenter Dj Jacob Omuutuze, mc kapale did shed tears on the news that promoters had eaten the money alone yet he has a bank loan and his kid isn't going to school
