Jaja Ragga Dee Addresses Revenue Losses from Live Concert Streams in Uganda Jaja Ragga Dee commonly known as Daniel kazibwe, a prominent figure in the Ugandan music industry and the patron of the Uganda Musicians Federation (UMF), has raised concerns over the financial losses Ugandan artists face due to live concert broadcasts by various media houses. In recent statements, he highlighted how these live streams on different social media platforms deter many potential concertgoers from attending events, opting instead to watch the performances for free from the comfort of their homes. Jaja Ragga Dee pointed out that a concert which could potentially attract around 8,000 attendees often ends up drawing only about 3,000 people. IS JAMES PROPA'S CALL FOR UGANDAN OLDER ARTISTS RIGHT?

Ugandan music critic James propa JP

Stop Competing With Upcoming Artists

Seasoned Journalist James Propa yesterday through  his Facebook handle had a call for Older artists in the UGANDAN MUSIC INDUSTRY to stop competing with the young  and upcoming artists for relevancy in the music industry,

Learn why it's important to stop comparing yourself to upcoming artists and focus on your own unique talents and journey in the music industry. Embrace your individuality and pave your own path to success.

Many older artists like Bebe cool compete with the likes of Gravity Omutujju or Ykee Bender for air play on Radio and Television air play and concert booking.

  • James Propa was of the view that how about these artists investing in the industry to prepare for their retirement and also help promote talent of the young artists.

  • He urged these artists to invest in recording studios and music labels that can help distribute music and make sells than concentration on concerts and booking.

  • When you analyse many Ugandan artists they don't know how to make money off their music, they don't have endorsement and even when they have them, they are cheated as they don't have management teams who are in their best interest.

  • The artists are supposed to sign up with publishing and distribution companies like Sony music labels website but they are supposed to make people love their music and be able to buy it online on "Spotify" or "Apple music" that is through building fun base in different hoods and universities, make sure whenever they are booked abroad they endeavor to visit Radio stations in those countries and also ask about music rotation, and premiering of their songs . This helps them become known.

People like Katende of the EBONIES owns theater labonita and a production company VLC but he isn't enough as more people should be encouraged to invest in the industry and also help lift the industry and see it expand
