Court Did Listen To My Side

Veteran Ugandan TV host and Buddies Television Producer, David Kazoora alias J Kazoora has vowed to appeal the court ruling in Rwanda after losing an appeal againt a lower court ruling which found him guilty using fraudulent means to shortchange his business partners.

Nyarugunga Primary Court in Kicukiro District, Rwanda convicted him of fraud and ordered him to pay over Rwf87 million for undercutting his partner by creating a parallel company, apparently bearing the same features,

Buddies TV Ltd duped a client to award a tender to the new company, thereby conning his partner of the dividends, a decision he appealed..

Speaking to ChimpLyf in a telephone phone interview, the popular events emcee who is travelling from Germany disclosed his intentions to appeal to the ruling which according to him was “unfair”.

Definitely I am going to appeal. I am being treated unfairly. They are biased against me because I have no case to answer,"

Kazoora said according to him the plaintiff,

Nina Kagenza was just an employee, who owned no shares in Buddies Production (R) Ltd.
"Kagenza was not a shareholder in the company but a manager. Just a mere employee.
I hope i will one day i will get justice,"
he noted.
In 2014, the prosecution dragged the Ugandan TV socialite to court, accusing him of deviating an advertising tender from Buddies Production (R) Ltd, in which he was a50 per cent shareholder, to a new company he named ‘Buddies TV Ltd.

’By so doing, Kazoora undercut his partner and co-shareholder Nina Kagenza, by creating a parallel company, apparently bearing the same features, ‘Buddies TV Ltd’ and duped a client to award a tender to the new company, thereby fleecing his partner of dividends, according to prosecution.
The deal was about a second promotional campaign by Airtel (Birahebuje II), whose value was estimated at around Rwf76 million which was mistakenly handed to ‘Buddies TV Ltd’ instead of Buddies Production (R) Ltd that had producedthe first campaign. The other shareholders were represented by local events promoter Davis Kagenza, who had been the managing director of Buddies Productions
